Description I've recently thought I should give Cinema 4D a try because I saw a bunch of great tutorials at Greyscalegorilla's blog. This animation - the first that I've made in C4D - is also based on one of them, which teaches you how to use subpolygonal displacements. Because I'm fairly new to 3d animation, the whole scene is pretty simple, but I tried to spice it up a bit in After Effects with the typographycal elements and such.

Programs used:
Cinema 4D for the 3d animation,
AfterFX for compositing,
Sony Vegas/Reason for sound design.

This is great. Love the simplicity. The 3d blob looks so fluid and realistic. Well done!

the squirming surface stage of the progression is my favourite: as if something was trapped and trying to escape, or maggots wriggling beneath the skin in a complex dance.

good job!

Nick Campbell is the best!! His live webcasts are awesome. Great work by the way dude. I've done a lot of displacements myself after watching the tut, just no animations because I'm not very good at making them. Again, nice job
