This is my entry for "Yaoi Yuri Contest 2011".It is the illustration for my Saiunkoku Monogatari fanfic I'll Never again ... ... obasan45.deviantart.com/art/I-…
Saiunkoku Monogatari and its characters belong to Sai Yukino.
Materials : watercolour pencils and pigment-ink pens
This picture marks Reishin's surrender after a four-day battle of wills with his lover Kijin. His attempt at withholding sex as a bargaining tool failed miserably, betrayed by his hormones! ^_^
The sign above the gate says 南门 nanmen (south gate) ...
heh heh, Reishin surrenders his south entrance!
The setting is typical siege warfare: towering city wall/gate, ladders scaling the wall, catapults, and war banners fluttering in the wind.
The four triangular flags on Reishin and Kijin's backs are "borrowed" from the 大靠 da kao costume (armour) in Chinese Opera. The flags symbolize battle-readiness, or being in full armour.

That aged, worn look of the catapult is really good - and so is the rusty chain. In contrast, the fortress seems rather new!

I thought I should check with you first because:
In a Group (specific anime/manga fandom) that I was in, some members brought up to the admin about not wanting to see Yaoi pictures in their Deviant Watch Inbox. The result of that unpleasantness was that some members withdrew their deviations and left the Group to set up a "replacement" Group for that fandom.
I'm happy to join your group, but you need to be aware of where you stand, what you feel. There is no such thing as "I can not say no" - the founder does have the right to decide what sort of Group he/she wants. I mean, if someone wants to set up a Group that only accepts pictures of men with an extra finger(!!!!), then so be it. No one should complain that it's discrimination, or elitist, or whatever. Don't like the Group's manifesto, then don't join, that's all there is to it.
Sorry to be getting all serious on you, but homosexual love is not exactly mainstream, and there are people who find it offensive.

No you don't actually... Go to the widget that shows your newest deviations and click on the edit button on the top right corner. there will appear a text box underneath the setting options of your deviations. copy/paste :thumb253617735: into the description text box and click Save.
