Description A 9" by 12" woodburn of Sakura from a poster of the anime Card Captor Sakura. Thought about coloring in the background, but dunno if i can get a light enough color in there or if it even needs it.

i was actually going to say something about how nice and bright it is, but i guess you've already worried about it. needlessly, of course arg, i have a few more q's for you.
-do you buy wood that is differently colored? or are they all the same?
-and how much is your gross? y'know, like after buying the paint, utensils, and wood?
-and lastly, how long on average would something this size and detail take you? thats all, keep up the good work ^^

1) I usually buy plaques of basswood that are already fabricated, but the problem is finding pieces that have a nice clean wood surface. Most of the time they all have knots in them or different colors to them so it's annoying at times.
2) The woodburn pen i'm using at the moment is the generic kind. i'm saving up money for the fancy one but it's expensive. the stain markers are around $4-6 a pop, and the wood varies in price. Anywhere from $2-20 and up. This 12 x 16 cost around $15. And lastly there is the sandpaper and polyurithane.
3) This one took roughly 16hrs to fully pencil and burn and stain. still need to polyurithane it though. plus might change the background some so i dunno lol.

hope that helps.

Nah bud, I'd keep it bright. It's a bright vibrant image with a lot going on. 'Sides, who needs a background when the foreground looks as good as it does right?

true true. but i still might try and get a light shade of something in the background. dunno yet
