I hadn't thought of that with the eyes, but you're right...
He's an Eshu from World of Darkness's 'Changeling' game. They've got all blue or all black eyes. I think the all black look evil, and Jaide definitely isn't, so I went with the Cerulean.

I don't think those eyes look scary, they look intense. But may be the mediterranian skin texture softens it

I think the all black are kinda insecty and creepy, not the blue eyes. It's like they're always looking into the distance.

He turned out phantastically. You are right, blue always opens space. There is a mystery specially with the cobalt blue glass that the old creators of medieval church windows used to apply. Cobalt blue glass is the most brilliant glass, much more than red, green or yellow. And so they surrounded for north side windows of cathedrals the yellow, green and red parts by cobalt blue glass. So the achieved to get windows of the north as brilliant as those of the sout side. Best object to study this is the cathedral of Chartres.
