Description   I had an idea of Shantae's mother possibly appearing in this film series that's currently being made.  It's currently in development, but she will eventually appear in this series.

Shantae's Mother (Kuaka) is one of the genie guardians who resides in the Genie Realm and keeps a watchful eye on Scuttle Town.

In the Mortal Brothers MMXIX timeline, a dangerous skakdi named Vezon invades both the Genie Realm and Scuttle Town, and even captured a good chunk of genies still trapped in their lamps.  Vezon eventually got noticed by Shantae as he was spreading havoc to Scuttle Town, teleporting himself to the NetherRealm (with Shantae chasing after him).  In the midst of the chase, Vezon got a mysterious katana blade with him and Shantae caught up with the skakdi.  Immediately, Vezon used his fusion spear to fuse her mother AND half genie magic into the katana sword with imprinted flames and engraved the initials of her name on the sword itself.  Vezon left Kuaka as a sword next to the distraught Shantae (becoming human the second time).

Not much is know about Shantae's mother according to official pages by WayForward.  What is known that she fell in love with a human man and thus birthed Shantae (as half genie and half human).

I'm aware there have been iterations of Shantae's Mother in various fan fictions, but my take on Shantae's motivation to find out about her origins is for a slightly more solemn direction where [Vezon being the cause of her fusion in the katana sword Shantae gets to use in her involvement in the Mortal Brothers tournament and] Shantae finds a way to unfuse her mom to not only see her in the flesh but also free her from her lamp.  As I was drawing her, I searched for a translation of her name in Arabic for her lamp (which eventually changed to Japanese on the katana blade by Vezon).  This may be a huge step for the sequel as I'm preparing to make MB MMXIX-II: Azel and have it released by September 1, 2019.  Stay Tuned, and I'll have a fully-colored version as soon as I get her finished.
