Oh my goodness it this ever an improvement. One lightsource thing I can see is that it's coming from the right on everywhere except the metal jaw. Also:

That red should(vaguely) be the inside of the, um, whatever piece that is on him. Unless, of course, that white is solid, in which case it should probably have some sort of shading.
Overall, watching you improve this far this fast makes me jealous, actually. Nice job.

I understand with the lightsource, that one spot just seems different from the rest. It's not really disturbing though, so no big deal.
Oh, a button? That works. Guess I just didn't read it as that, saw it as a hole 'cus it's the same color as the background. Maybe to keep it as a button, shade a little around the back edge to make it like rounded, or alter the shape a bit to make it a cylindrical shape instead of a flat circle(probably easier). Or, of course, add the back and make it a hole

Yeah, I know what you mean. I used to have a lot of trouble with them, and I still do if I don't pay major attention to where it is.

I actually agree, kinda(and thank you). The white highlights on the fur were the last thing I added, and it actually looks better without them. I totally understand keeping the highlights down, that was just kinda the direction I decided to go with it
