Description Venus, the Morning Star, The Lightbringer, The third planet from the Sun. This world has been known to humanity since ancient times as one of the brightest objects in the night sky. In modern times, it has come to be known as Earth’s Twin due to their similar appearances.

Venus is a warm humid planet, large parts of its surface are covered by dense forests with relatively small deserts and no polar ice caps. It is orbited by the twin moons Cupid and Aeneas, which are in a binary with each other.

Native to Venus are a species of cephalopod-like humanoids, their appearance has puzzled many biologists as they are so uncannily human-like that many have said that they look like if humanity had evolved a second time but based around Venusian biology. However, Venusians still have several differences, they have 4 long moving tentacles in the place of their hair that can act as additional limbs, their skin can change colour, they have beaks in their mouths that give the appearance of teeth and have cross shaped pupils. Venusian blood is blue due the use of copper-based hemocyanin instead of hemoglobin.

Venusian civilization was at a technological level equivalent to Earth’s 1870s during first contact, with heavy industrialization throughout the largest continent, Aphrodite. Their technology has since rapidly advanced due to interaction with humanity.

The first human probe to visit Venus was the American Mariner 2 probe in 1962, and the first lander to arrive was the Soviet Venera 4. Over the course of the next decade, dozens of landers would rain down over the Venusian surface, some delivering images of human society to the Venusians. Venusian reactions to the human probes was extremely divided, some wanted to greet humanity with open arms, while many others feared that an invasion was going to come. The latter thought was boosted after Altian Science Fiction writer H. G. Valtern wrote a book depicting an invasion of Venus by aliens from Earth. The first human colony ship, the Ishtar, arrived in 1981, with many more arriving shortly after, establishing humanity’s presence on Venus.

Both Venusians and Humans have set up bases on Venus’s moons, and there is a large presence of Minervans on the moons as well, many are descended from those who escaped the nuclear exchange on Minerva.
