Description A6-size copy of The Lost World by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (public domain).

This is the first time I've tried making a full leather-bound book, and the first time I've made a solid spine. I wanted to do something with raised cords visible through the leather, but probably should have made them a bit thinner for a book so small.
There are many things wrong with it, and a few things I'll change next time, but I'm happy I mananged to produce a good comfortable bedtime-reading sized book!

I found these blogs particularly helpful for how to sew the headbands, attach the boards, and so on:

Is the project making a book or on The Lost World?

The thick cords may be something to remember in future projects, but in this one it's kind of cool, gives it something of a tome feel.

I do like the archaic effect, but I admit it's going to be tricky to fit neatly on a bookshelf...

Admittedly, a problem.
