i can bet shot is thousand times better than this... and you know why? 'cause of the damn bad scanner... 4400f and 8800f suck big time... nikon coolscan is yet something... but it's too expensive when you compare it's price and result...
lab scanning is the best thing.

I know... but as you said its too expensive... will probably end buying one, but right now I don't really want to spend more money in photo gear...

beautiful. Its harder to get 1600 or higher here, but luckily Kodak still sells 800 at grocery stores.
I think the highest speed film I ever shot with was Ilford 3200 black and white. the pics came out pretty great, not nearly as grainy as i was told to expect.
there really is a lot of great stuff going on in this shot, with little details you might not anticipate as you look around it. I'd love to see what a full size print of this looked like in person.
btw was this a scan of a print or a negative scan?

I shot this on HP5 (400) film, exposed as if it were 1600 film, then pushed to 1600 during developing
Its a negative scan, will probably print someday next week

i was thinking about push processing one of my 800 rolls, I dunno though.

you could also do the reverse - shoot a 3200 roll as 1600 - should give you nice results too
developing times are on Ilford's website

I really can't explain why it is this shot calls to me...best I can put it is that it's reminescent of something from my dreams. Maybe a scene from one, a setting, and seeing it in this photo has me totally mezmorized.
