Eh, I wouldn't trust pet stores with giving accurate care information, nor a healthy animal.
I see so many people buying a reptile from the pet shop and then they wonder why it's got sick or died :c

Her store did not give her entirely accurate information but Petsmarts take great care of their pets. If they get sick they are taken to a vet and are treated daily. But this her baby is being properly cared for.

I hope so. Our pet store chain is..well..less than desirable. They mix male and female rabbits together, and people get confused when their rabbit pops out a litter one afternoon XD

I work at a Petsmart, we don't even sell two genders of rodent. It's one gender per store and if we accidentally get a wrong gender we quarantine the females that were with it until the gestation period is over and we adopt out the male.Β If she had babies (we actually have some now) We wait til they are old enough then we sex and separate them and adopt the babies out.

Yea all the Geckos had small tails at the store, only a couple months old so as he ages im sure it will get more and more fat ^^
Im actually allergic to most reptile sand (the stuff they put in it trying to make it "healthy" or what not) so definitely not a worry.Β

ah isee. ;w;I jsu tread to be wary of geckos with small tails but that may only apply if they are older.
as it may be understandable for a baby to have a small tail.
and that is good sand can cause terrible health issues for the poor lil geckos. ;w;

They should have a heat mat instead of a heat lamp. >.>

Ive read into alot of things and found most people saying heat lamps were fine, including the pet store. I didnt think it would since they arnt really the lizards to sunbathe but yea
Im getting a heat pad on the 3rd, have to wait til pay day. Until then the tank is a few from my heating vent, and im keeping a constant monitor on the temperature.Β
Dont want the little one having problems.Β

Yeah they usually are fine for a little while with the lamp, but pads are better. I actually work at petsmart. We are trying to train our staff on proper heating on the leopard geckos because our pamphlets say heat light and sand. But most young reptiles have a hard time digesting sand that they accidentally eat.
