Makes me think of hell and the shadow cast by the flames. perhaps 23 is a level in hell. does it get worse as it goes down? or better? beautiful color and composition. creative as usual dear.

Thanks dear. You made me think about this for a while and come to the conclusion that I am not really interested in hell, heaven is much more appealing to me.

lovely, and a great title. I get as many comments for my titles as my work.

Thank you. Titles are important to me and generally I find titles underrated.
I took a look at some of your work and it is very fine.

Usually, images like this bore this shit of me. I can't even tell you why I dig this. I appreciate the richness and tone of the red. My curiosity is piqued by the shadow. Garden chair?

Octavus In reply to seafaringgypsy [2005-07-29 12:45:43 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the comment and the
No the shadow is not from a garden chair. This is a detail of the botom of a large ship being repared. The shadow comes from a supporting structure.

You know, a piece assumed that. I've been staring at ships for years now, in fact, I'm stationed aboard one, but that didn't occur to me until after I sent the comment. You're welcome for the fav. My pleasure entirely.

This is a great shot. The colours and the shadows work well and the position of the number '23' is perfectly positioned. Good work.

You made me realize that the photograph was made on the 23rd. I hadn't noticed that.
On what month were you born?

Yes you should pay a visit. Don't you have some unused outdoor quota?

Less that two months until your birthday .

Interesting places in Iceland lesson 1:

Repeat the names of these places ten times:
JΓΆkulsΓ‘rlΓ³n
Snæfellsnes
Öræfajâkull
Þingvellir

Landmannalaugar

haha!
you think that you tricked me this time, huh?

after two years of Norwegian studies and three years of acting school (ok, ten years ago...) these aren't causing great difficulty for me.........

[err.... how do you pronounce those funny characters?]

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Octavus In reply to saturninus [2005-07-26 11:39:31 +0000 UTC]

You never cease to amaze me Andras. Three years of acting school, ok I had some suspicion about your relation to the theater, but two years of Norwegian studies, that really amazes me.

So you have covered language issues. Along your acting skills, the right clothing which is a sheepskin jacket and a Viking helmet, you should really be able to blend in with the natives.

saturninus In reply to Octavus [2005-07-26 12:42:13 +0000 UTC]

haha, yes.... when I had my cocktails at the Norwegian Embassy (Kongelig Norsk Ambassade) in Budapest some years ago many natives came over and started to speak fluent Norwegian to me.... I could hardly protest and say that I am "just" a Hungarian boy with a slight knowledge of their language so we should switch to English....... but true, true, I have some Scandinavian features on my face and on my complexion.

Great abstract, once again, from you.
This feels like a hell-ish place with the firy red and fork-like shadow.
Very swell IMO -
