Description
First appearance: Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (2004)

Dark Samus from the ”Metroid” series. She is a developed form of the abominable Metroid Prime that, after absorbing DNA from Samus and her Power Suit, gained the form and abilities of the famed bounty hunter. While she first appeared in "Metroid Prime" as the eponymous creature, Dark Samus’ first proper appearance was in ”Metroid Prime 2: Echoes” where her main goal is to absorb and spread corruptive Phazon. Samus' detrimental doppelgänger reappears in a more wraith-like form in ”Metroid Prime 3: Corruption”, where she greatly and horrifically expands her aforementioned plans.
Outside the franchise, Dark Samus gained fame in 2018 for joining the ever-expanding cast of the biggest Nintendo franchise of all time… Seems like more than one universe is under her threat now!

With me not being used to draw humanoid characters, Dark Samus was a bit of a challenge. Yet, thanks to the unique shape of the armor, it worked out pretty well. As there is a lot of lighting effects going on in the picture, I focused more on those than shading and details.
A tricky part was to decide which of her many designs I should use; it was either her organic-looking ”MP2” design (with clawed feet and Eldritch-esque shoulder pads), or the artificial one from ”MP3” (that is more akin to Samus actual Power Suit). Ultimately (pun intended), I chose her ”SSBU” design, as it had both organic and artificial elements.
