**Minor spoiler warning for ”The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword”**

First appearance: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (2011)

Tentalus from ”The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword”. It is a massive sea monster that violently starts attacking the Sandship after Link opens the fake boss chamber. Link must now thwart this tentacled titan in order to protect Nayru’s Flame that’s safely guarded inside the ship.
Tentalus attacks by tearing its tentacles through the ship deck, crush Link with its arms, and giving its ”hair” tentacles eel-like jaws that assaults Link.

Tentalus was a boss that really toyed with players’ expectations. With the way it attacks the ship and you only see it’s tentacles, you would expect it to be an abominable and horrifying monster. And then it appears from the water… looking like something straight out of some children’s show. When then the battle starts, however, Tentalus’ high competence is on full display, along with the sudden horror of the eel-like tentacles.
All this is why Tentalus might be one of the most well-designed bosses in my opinion, along with a fun and reasonably challenging battle.

I started on this piece about half a year ago, and then gave up because I found the shading and suction cups being too hard to draw. Then I recently started working on it again, after getting some constructive critique from a friend, and I now like the result more. It might not be perfect, but for now I’m just glad that I can finally submit this tiresome piece
