What I heard was said was actually "Twilight will not outlive her friends"...which could mean three things:
Β Β 1: Twilight is not immortal
Β Β 2: Twilight will die in the finale or something, rather unlikely
Β Β 3: All of the Elements are immortal. This one is surprisingly possible--recall that both Celestia and Luna were bound to the Elements for nearly all of theirΒ Β Β Β Β Β Β Β lifespan. It is possible that their immortality resulted from the Elements, not Alicornity--which would mean that they now have an ordinary pony lifespanΒ Β Β Β Β Β Β remaining, and that the Mane Six will live until they pass the Elements on.

Relax, there is nothing to worry, this will not happen, as a friend he read by Twitter of some of the people who work in the series (including Meghan McCarthy) have said very clearly that no immortality it will go into Twilight and she will never leave her friends.

A sad but interesting and moving concept. The good news is that since Twilight officially became an alicorn princess, there's been a lot of chatter and messages that she will live just as long as her friends. And if the longevity of Granny Smith and her even older Auntie Applesauce are any indication, the Mane Six all have long and full lives ahead of them. They just might not have all their teeth by then.
I guess the anger in the fandom over Twiley's transformation is still there, but it was clearly a marketing move by Hasbro to sell more new toys. And all its toy lines have been rebooted or revised countless times since the 80's (Transformers, GI Joe, MLP and soon a rebooted Jem and the Holograms). So cursed be the firm the Hassenfeld Brothers built in yonder Pawtucket. A thousand parasprite swarms be upon them!
On a more positive note, yesterday I thought up a short fan story called "The Golden Mares" that sees the Mane Six all alive and well in their elder years, with Twilight about to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee (60 years) as Princess of Friendship. They look like Granny Smith in appearance and gather at Twiley's castle once a week for their reading circle. Rainbow Dash argues that their next book should be "Daring Do Comes Out of Retirement" whilst Fluttershy suggests "How I Made the Parasprites Nice and Not So Hungry", written by her daughter from her husband Big Mac. On the big jubilee celebration, Twiley addresses the Ponyville crowd from her balcony with the other five, now knighted as duchesses and ladies, proclaiming that of all the magic she has learned in her many years, the greatest and most powerful kind of all is the magic of friendship.
This was the fun cartoon that inspired it. Just add wings to Twiley and you have The Golden Mares.

I know how to prevent this, here's how it goes: if celestia can turn ponies in to alicorns and there for make them immortal, then twilight can do it to, so when she realizes this would happen, she can just turn them into alicorns. TWILICORN FOREVER!!!!!!! 7
