Yes, it would make a very interesting combination, the grounded eyed creatures and the squids floating in the air. Those squids are awesome.

Yes! Exactly! I guess I'm inspired by when you go walking in the desert and sometimes you find sea shells.
To think the place was covered in water a million years ago!
But to make an alien world where it's still covered only with a thick air instead of water so you can walk freely and explore!

Ho, I'm fascinated by deserts. I've travelled across the Sahara desert from Central Africa to the Mediterrenean by car. And yes we did find giant oysters and mussels shells but what impressed me most was a petrified forest. The stone trunks coming out of the sand was an awesome vision. But the air is so clean and pure in the desert and just right now I find it hard to imagine a thick air cover. But I have a wild imagination.

Good point!
What to do about the sea of air?
I've always thought it should be thicker than regular air but the desert never feels like that.
A good friend suggested that if the creatures and ships had "air" bags that were actually "vacuums" it wouldn't really matter how thick the air was.

I guess the main reason I fight for the Sea Of Air concept is that I love the idea of a "crop" growing on it's surface.
The thought of people farming in the sky is so inspiring to me!

Totally open to reinterpretation And new ideas though.

So cool you traveled the Sahara!
I did Death Valley here but some how the Sahara seems more powerful!

The Sky harvesters is a very cool concept but what would the harvest be? Some air plancton may be? The idea of creatures with airbags is very good. It would make a good film scene to see the creatures inflating their air bags to go higher in the sky. You could have clouds harbouring life a bit like coral reefs in our seas.

"Clouds harboring life a bit like coral reefs"!?!
Fucking genius!

Yeah, sometimes I think all my creativity is is just switching elements.
Clouds look like continents, puddles in the road look like lakes and rivers sometimes.
Why not move them around?

I had the sky harvester sucking up Aero-Algae but an animal like plankton might be more interesting.
The whole idea of the second sky, or ocean of air, was just so there would be a "surface" where the harvester could operate.
And where many of these airborne plants and animals might settle.

I can picture the film, wondrous creatures transform before you, with just their sounds like whales and no words.

Hi there Odile, I like this one the best, I love the spaceships, but the plants are really excellent, does it take a long time to do this type of work?, cheers, Mike.

Thanks for visiting! I like this one too I don't remember how long it took. Most of the time it takes me a few days to build up and render a picture. If a picture is complex, with a lot of reflections, waters, spectral atmosphere a final render takes around 10 to 12 hours.VoilΓ ! Cheers. Odile

Hi there Odile, Its sounds so complex, I know I have to start using it at sometime as times are changing, but when I paint or draw, I get so much from it not the same with the computer as I'm so wound up with the technology of it that I just can't relax enough, all the very best, cheers, Mike.

I suspect the inhabitants' of this planet look is miles away from Barbie's... Even if a genuine pink planet might suit her very well... Gorgeous scene, I so like when you go pink, my dear!
