Description Fun fact of the day: The Japanese, despite the sword/bow etc. being the most famous weapons of the samurai, adopted and utilized the firearm (Arquebus) rapidly when it was first introduced.

And the greatest manufacturers of the matchlock? Buddhist monks. Yes, I'm serious. Look up the warring states era, when Oda Nobunaga was trying to pacify Japan, Warrior monks were, quite literally, the most effective enemies he fought for much of his campaigning.

Definitely like how well this and your Samurai piece go together. However I quickly looked through your gallery and noticed one negative consistency you've gotta work on. You're drawing your torsos too long, which makes your subjects look unstable and easy to push over. Every other part of the figure is in good proportion and I think you could pump out some really great work if you just keep this in mind.

XD yeah, but remember: They weren't firing individually.

When Oda Nobunaga mounted an assault on the massive fortress monastery of Ishiyama Homgamji (Spelling check) he attempted a frontal assault.

His heavily armored Samurai actually sank into the soft earth (The monks had buried clay pots in the soil, trapping feet and stopping the charge)

Then? Gun monks. 3,000 elite monk Arquebuseers, showed up to ruin, his, day.

The siege lasted eleven years. The longest siege in Japanese history, if I remember correctly.

Haha, holy shit. Learn something new everyday xD That sounds awesome

Yea, one person couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, but stack 3000 of em, and all of a sudden you're chewing through the house behind it

Exactly! There's a very good reason that men lined up, even if it's seems absurd by today's standards.

Weight of fire.

Yea. That's the main reason why I didn't like the Napoleonic era's warfare: Too standy around and based on formations that instantly get wiped because you're lined up and they have a cannon.

Don't get me wrong, seeing a musket line fire is satisfying as hell, but if I had to fight during a time, it wouldn't be then xD

I don't think there's any time where I'd want to fight XD gonna be honest

Haha, yea, me neither, but if I did have to, I definitely would not choose that era xD
