Doctors often don't listen to the women the work for. They think that these women have no idea what is best for them, that they're helpless. Like cattle instead of intelligent human beings.

kinda. It's a comment on how doctors view pregnant women. As if they're helpless. If pregnant women needed doctors, then humans would have died out a long time ago.
