Description That's a Mamono Hunter Yohko song (translated). Does anybody remember that show??? It's sung by Aya Hisakawa. In other words, I had no title.

So like, I drew this a month ago, maybe two months ago, for a school project I had to do. I kept the lineart and decided to do something with it. Today I was bored and wanted to try coloring really simply with little thought put into what I was doing. Voila!

Vesta (in mock Japanese garb) and Vox, the mouse on the umbrella handle. You can barely see him. I don't know why I colored him so badly. It's my first time to have drawn him and I guess I hadn't decided on colors, so I kept it simple. Maybe a pink nose would have been better...

From my story Fallen, these two are © me.

Vox is SOOO CUTE! XD

He's hard to see, but a pink nose would have killed it I think. XD *squeals and talks gibberish over the cute talking mouse*

Do you give out links to your other gallery?

I love how cartonny Vox looks in comparison to the more realistic stlye (but still anime/manga!) your characters have. And he's just so cuute. :3 Like a good magical girl (sort of...you managed to turn a genre targeted at girls into a more mature guy type one quite well) animal companion should be. :3

Yeah, it's totally supposed to be the darker side of magical girls, and it's more readable for boys ;D Glad you noticed that!

My other gallery went down when I lost the password to my website and I couldn't change it because the company I had bought the service from had switched to three other companies since I bought it in 1998. I was NOT happy about that.

Oh yeah, I'd be PISSED. To put it mildly.

Well, you'd mentioned magical girls a couple of places. And most magical girl stories are so obsessed with "love and justice" they seem to ignore the fact that it's a bunch of young women (teenagers to early twenties) putting themselves in mortal danger when they are probably too young to make the decision. And the danger becomes a moot point in many of them because all that are killed come back in the end, anyways. That's the part that bothers me the most.

If you're going to run around killing the cast and bringing them back, death loses its meaning. Which is why no one bats an eye at comic book OR manga character deaths any more. Although it does make it a bigger shock if the writer than decides to permanently kill a character. So the bringing them back all the time CAN serve a purpose, making a permanent death carry more shock and weight. :3

My dad hates shows like Sailor Moon due to children putting their lives on the line when they aren't able to make an informed choice. And I'm like, "Yeah, but they are the only ones who can! If they chose not to, the world would end! How would an adult be able to make any more of an informed choice in that kind of situation!" I love how you touched on that in your story. Your adults are faced with the same decision, and are trapped in the same way. Do or die. :3

Yeah, I wanted adults in there so it would be easier to watch them struggle, but I have a few teens, so it's half adults and half kids fighting, and they all have different takes on it. That's exactly the kind of stuff that bothered me, like they made it seem all cute and whatever, but there was never any real danger. Sailor Moon and them are revived or reborn or whatever... the first time they died I cried, though, haha. I didn't know they were coming back yet.

I'm glad I've got a new reader for the story! Since you love magical girls stories too, I'll definitely look forward to reading your comments!

Oh, it's my absolute favorite genre!

I cry more over characters when they DON'T come back a.k.a Nephrite of the anime. That was/is sooo sad. Poor Naru-chan. *sniffle*

I actualy have the limited editions of the DHY series.
Very nicely done. I especially love the way you drew and coloured the face. Everything's got that shiny look to it.

Nice! Overall I think your colors are stronger in this piece.. Perhaps it's because you're not fretting about complicated blending and whatnot. The flowers on her kimono are lovely, by the way. I have a small anatomy crit about Vox... I don't think his right leg(our left) would be wrapped that far around the pole. It looks like that leg has been separated from his body and pulled down to fit there.

You like, need to update more and stuff. That would be totally awesomez.

My bigger anatomy fret is her hands... I think they look terrible. You're probably right about Vox (I'm not looking at the pic right now). I'd like to draw him again now that I've decided on a design for him... though I still hate the colors I chose somehow.

Yes, well, I've got summer homework I need to finish this week/next week, so we'll see how many pics I can finish in the span of nine days.

Very beautiful!! I love how u drew her face and the pattern on her kimono. But I think the kimono and umbrella's artline need to be darkened^^ perhaps black coloured. Since u used darker colour for the kimono. That's my opinion anyway^^
