Face it, everyone is going to disagree that you failed. I mean, yes the markers kinda made it look bland, but it was an experiment with a different type of media!
It's better to accept it then say,
"No! >.< My art isn't good enough! It fails! *hiss*"
Because one of us will eventually say, "*slap* Shutup! You are good at art and YOU ARE GOING TO LIKE IT!"

You're right; even though saying "what that person said" makes it sound unsincere, you said it the best.
The only thing I can think of to criticize it is that the hair needs a small spike on top 'cause that would look really cool.
