Welp, today marks the release of WildNorWester's new models of his incarnations of Barry and the Works Diesel. I love how he used a real Standard 2 rescued from Barry Island Scrapyard, even if it does kinda conflict with my personal headcanon. So, if I ever do get back to writing Thomas stories, I'll be depicting him as a visitor from the Other Railway. Another reason behind this is because that because the book was rejected, and the Austerity Engine (WNW's Sheffield, scheduled to appear this fall) never appeared, these engines never became a part of the NWR, and are thus officially non-canon to the RWS. Call them beta elements, if you will, or at least unimplemented characters. It's always nice to see someone take charge and do their own depiction of an unused character, and brilliantly.As for Sheffield and Geoff, I'm still thinking about them. As much as I enjoy altering canon to fit my personal thoughts, at the same time I kinda don't like changing things already established. Hell, I might as well alter my BoCo backstory to better fit with RWS canon. I guess I can't make them BOTH realistic to life AND the RWS. Ya gotta make some sacrifices here and there.

Definitely; it does kinda keep in line with the RWS and real life as the engine wasn't rescued or purchased by the NWR and I believe the real deal works on a heritage line irl. It's currently being restored and overhauled actually.

That was actually someone else's model - I was just doing the bogey for it in Gmax.
Having said that, if there isn't a version of Ivo Hugh with multiple/changeable faces out when I start filming Sodor: The Modern Years, then I will be making my own version.
