Description The never-built 3-core HLV version of Atlas V.  Not quite as capable as Delta IV Heavy flying with RS-68A engines, though considerably cheaper to operate, it would've used 3 RD-180 engines to put about 25 tons into Low Earth Orbit.

We NEED a Fleet HLV's for stop gap complimentary operations and Atlas V was the BETTER.

Technically, Delta IV Heavy was the more capable vehicle... but yeah (tonnage to a given orbit).  Atlas V Heavy would've been much cheaper for what it needed to do, and much less of a manufacturing nightmare than Delta IV Heavy turned out to be!  Turns out the 2 side boosters of Delta IV H are unique to that design, whereas Atlas V would've used two stock CCBs with minimal modification.
