Description A set of images as the tide starts to ebb at Brighouse Bay, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. The Sun was behind me, the water crystal clear, and conditions were perfect for close-up photography of the sea with its ever changing ripples and reflections; sand, shadows, shells, stones and seaweed. These are full spectrum shots, both visible and infrared light contributing to tone and colour.

A compilation for my good friend Coco who understands the Ebb Tide and whose support means so much.

the ripples and textures are in essence abstactions from reality, so why not remove the colour and play with the contrast on what would be some very interesting mono's. the images as they are are already abstractions (not your everyday "norm" in imagery)

Another good idea, Mike - I had thought that there was not much colour, but why bother with it at all! I shall explore possibilities.

Thank you, Linda - I was quite pleased with this set and that of the seaweeds, taken at the same time. I would dearly love to go back and do some more, and I may get a chance over Xmas when I'll be back at the cottage.

Very good observation, Robson.

"To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour."

Many thanks, Robson - I wish I had written the poem. William Blake is one of the eccentrics of British Art, but worth study.

Class .
Love the fact that this one in particular is so abstract that without the explanation I think most viewers would be stuck to identify .

Many thanks, Richard - I thought about classing them all as abstract, but DA allows only one classification tag.
