Description Sitta europaea

Hidden GemsAfter only 1 year, I have managed to investigate and to get working one of the major features of my Canon EOS M5 mirrorless camera: the WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities such that the camera can be linked wirelessly to my smart phone, in this case a Samsung S8. I had tried this when I first bought the camera, but got hopeless lost trying to set it up. Now, with more determination, I have managed it. The upshot is that I can remotely control and fire the M5 from the smart phone. Given that WiFi and Bluetooth communications cam take place over 10s of meters, I need not be any where near the camera in order to operate it. The result is that I can set up the camera near wildlife, go away and be out of sight, yet take shots when something interesting comes into range. Basically, that is how I have been taking the recently posted shots of garden birds and intruders such as those below.

The Sun in this case is a flash from the camera, Linda, but yes, it is an OK shot.

Many Thanks

Indeed, Henry - those feet and claws are a feature of this species . Very agile birds capable of climbing up and down the bark of trees and hanging upside down if necessary to feed.

Many Thanks

David.

Many thanks, Ann. I'm going to write a short journal about how I've made these shots, but need some more examples.

Cheers

David
