As Linda says - some ghosts here, Brenda. Long exposure work is good for this effect.
Many Thanks

Many thanks, Linda - yes - hard to believe that waves were crashing in! But, very long exposures cause all these violent variations to be smoothed out - leaving only the ghosts of the white water. For a real scientific view though (well, I would wouldn't I?) if you look at the surface of the sea then you can see waves - light and dark areas receding into the distance. These must be lasting for 30 seconds or more - the exposure time. In fact, these are the waves that are travelling through the sea - giving rise to so-called standing waves in the water. Difficult to understand, perhaps.
Cheers
David

Greata exposure and color! Did You use a ND filter?

Indeed I did, Volker - a "big stoppa" - 8 stop ND. So got to 30 second exposure, but still needed f/22.
Many Thanks
David

I am thinking about buying a 64 stop ND!
