Indeed! You are correct, Sheri, that sparrows' plumage does vary from habitat to habitat. When the sun shines, male sparrows look particularly good with that brown back and grey cap.

They are very gregarious birds, Linda, and can become tame enough to come very close. This one would know I was there. The white background comes from me using two extra stops on exposure and point Β evaluation to capture the bird in reasonable detail.
