Description Following my Feature Festive Fun and 'Photes  there have been some supportive comments regarding some of the filters I illustrated, notably the one from GMIC called Stained Glass. Here is a small set of further images treated with that filter. Having studied how the authors of the filter designed it, I now have some idea as to how an image will respond to its application. For example, if there are large areas without much detail in the original, they become large segmented areas with  similar colours to the original; areas of high detail in the original are transformed into tightly packed segments. In general, the degree of segmentation follows the degree of detail. Colours and brightness follow, roughly,  dominant colours and luminance in the original. With those ideas in mind, I have picked images that I thought might respond well to the Stained Glass Transform.

I think that control is the key to working with this filter, Mike, and that is difficult with the way it is currently written. I may try isolating regions, and applying the filter to such selections to see what happens.

A bit weird more like, Sheri. I suppose I'm just promoting this filter. Here's the original.

Many Thanks

No, I agree. That transform really hits the original hard.
