Description A set of 6 images from recent work in Scotland. The concept of taking a shot to make an image that I wrote about in a major Feature in May, Taking and Making , is further explored using the Siver Efex Pro software from the Nik suite, and Textures 2 from the Topaz range.

This second image from Dalbeattie Forest features the wide range of the Itten contrasts in textures seen even on a dull day from the trees, water, grasses, and sky.

Another wonderful land and waterscape in a monochrome setting.

Fine shot and work...has an antique look about it...

That look is the from the Silver Efex Pro software. It is a sort of antique look, but not so much as I have used in the past.

It's a very fine look...to me a sort of antique look that adds to the shot...

It's about adding in just the right amount of an effect, Steven. Too much antique in this takes it back too far in time for what I wanted, but none at all leaves the image very flat.

Cheers

This is the "take-to-make" philosophy in action, Linda. Grey, overcast day, no contrast, all very flat. But, the drama in tone and contrast is there - just needs to be brought out.

Many Thanks

David
