Description Shot on the road near the summit of Mt William in the Grampian Mountains of Victoria, Australia at about 3000 ft above sea level, this is a classic monochrome infrared shot acquired by using an R72 filter on the lens of my converted Canon 40D. The sky was a beautiful clear and deep blue, indicating no or very low levels of infrared light were present, and this is rendered as black to dark grey in the infrared image. However, there was plenty of direct sunlight on the foliage of the trees, rendering them as the classic "white" foliage of infrared photography. Overall, this is a high contrast monochrome infrared shot.

I'm pleased you should come across this one, Steven. I quite liked it at the time, but it didn't attract much attention from the IR community.

Many Thanks

David

A totally different rendering of our beautiful eucalypts, David! Coco

Yes indeed, Coco. As I say elsewhere, this type of photography literally shows things in a different light. With this shot, there are none of my tricks and flips that I use. It is a straightforward IR 720 nm shot that is high contrast, even stark. BTW, some of the dark trunks in this image are fire damaged!

Many Thanks.

Yes, David ~ there are many of our forests with previous fire damage ~ lots of bushfires in Oz! Coco
