Description Pot PourriA mobility problem has curtailed my perambulations about my new home and hence my photography of particular subjects. So, this post is a bit of a mixture of some photographs I have managed over the last few days.
No one driving around this district at this time of year could avoid seeing the ubiquitous (common) pheasant (Phasianus colchicus). The male of this species of fairly large and noisy bird has an unmistakable colourful plumage, while the female is a more drab brown; both plumages have large dark angular feather spots, and both sexes have very long barred tails.

Usually, it is the males that attract most attention because of their colourful feathers and the next shot gives a much better impression. Yep - I think there is a great deal to experience in images like this, M, but as we discussed elsewhere, getting people to "see" the image is difficult. I note only 10 views as of this comment with 9 faves! People like their colours and narrative and something identifiable. Yet here, as you say, open it up to full view and slowly move through the image - what a vista of shapes, tones, textures and movement. I'm not trying to blow my own trumpet, but I find these visual excursion marvellous.

Many Thanks.

David
