Description
Kalaallit Nunaat is Greenlandic for Greenland (meaning land of the Kalaallit which are the Greenlandic Inuit) and this is my OC for him. He's kind of defunct though because I've been given crap about his looks. I drew this though because I missed him and I uploaded it because I guess it looked nice. I don't know, but here is my OC for Greenland. Enjoy.

His bio (or just the history part, don't bother reading if you're not interested. Sorry if anything is incorrect):
"Nuanneq naapillutit, my name is Kalaallit Nunaat, otherwise known as Greenland or Grønland. I have an autonomy within the Kingdom of Denmark, however I have my own government and laws, I got further independence rights in 2009. This means that I live at my own house, though I have to visit Denmark a few times and put up with him.
I don't remember my past as a young child, I spent the time with the many groups of natives on my island who inhabited it at the time. I learned to hunt, kill, fish, and survive in the harsh freezing climates that was my home. However, at the time, Greenland was a lot warmer than it is now, it even had trees!
During the 980s, Norway had been travelling on a ship to visit his younger brother Iceland. However the ship went off-course, this caused it to reach a completely different land, unfortunately for me this land was my home. At that time I had no name, as no one knew of me apart form my people, but the number was very low, even lower than my current population. Iceland had told me that I was named “Grænland” in Old Norse, (the name is still used in Iceland today, however I am “Grønland” in Danish and Norwegian) the name was given as to promote people to come here, thinking that it would be a nice green place, instead of the harsh icey one it is.
Surprisingly, back then my house was no where near as cold as it is currently. There were many plants and trees and crops could be grown there. However, Norway and Iceland had foolishly chopped down all of the trees and it stripped the then fertile soil. In the 1300s the climate was cooling and by 1420 it was incredibly freezing. This event was known as the Little Ice Age.
Many Norsemen went to inhabit the area where I lived, there were colonies in three settlements on my place, the largest being the Eastern and the Western the middle and leaving the Central being the smallest. In the 13th century the population was estimated to be a weak 2000-12,000 people strong. However, Norway and Iceland came by ship every year and we did trade together.
In 1126 Norwegian dioceses were brought here, at least 5 churches. In 1261 I had accepted the Norwegian king, this meant that I had to leave me land and move in with him. I became a colony. Over the time the Norsemen had came in and claimed more land, building their settlements and discovering new land. The Norsemen's numbers declined shortly after though, there are many factors that could have caused the Norsemen to leave, therefore I wont go through them.
However, things changed drastically in 1536. Norway and Denmark made a union together, called Denmark-Norway. I hadn't spoken to Denmark much, and had mostly learned about him from Norway or Iceland. When I met the man, things got worse. I didn't like Norway that much, I hated Denmark. His personality was far too annoying, and he was overly controlling. Norway and I had therefore moved in to Denmark's house (As well as Iceland, who was another Norwegian colony at the time). It was the third place I had lived in and it was far different than the both I had been in before. Over the years though, Denmark came to visit me more often, even more often than Norway or Iceland. They settled in a place he named Godthåb, (meaning good hope) which then became my capital.
In 1814, the treaty of Kiel caused Norway to leave Denmark and live with Sweden (which he did until 1905 when he got independence from him). Every colony Denmark-Norway had ended up going strait to Denmark. This meant that even though Norway moved out, Iceland and I both had to stay living with the Dane. Denmark and I obviously would interact a lot more, and we would go to my place a lot, I still didn't like his company though. In 1861 my language, Greenlandic, was founded, Danish laws still applied to any Danes who lived in Greenland though.
In the early 19th century most oil in the world came from whales, and whalebone was used in producing many items, used similarly to plastic is today. During the summer, there were many whales. This caused other countries to be interested and come here to hunt for them. The foreigners that came to my place to go whaling also traded with me, I was taken out of the stone age forever. Some companies employed Inuit members to help hunt for them. The women had to sew for clothes and make various objects for the sailors. During the 100 years that the Europeans and the American whalers were in the Inuit places, almost all of the bowhead whales were slaughtered. They then moved onto smaller whales and then onto walrus until there were hardly any animals left. They left my people to starve.
The fur traders then came and greedily came to exploit me and my people of our great land and recourses. Large profits could be made from furs, particularly ones of foxes.
My people became more and more dependent of the white people's goods. By the early 1900s we used rifles, knives, saws, hatchets, telescopes, drills, files, sewing needles and treat as well as cooking pots and other utensils. I had also been introduced to tobacco, coffee, tea, flour and even more, alcohol.
Next the missionaries took over, plotting churches on my land and trying to convert me to various Christian groups (Catholic, Church of England, Protestants ect..) They told me to dislike people for their religion and that Christianity was best. I lost all of my previous beliefs, and temporarily adopted Christianity. I no longer believe it now though.
Decisions were still made for me by Denmark, and it agitated me so much! At the beginning of the 20th century I was still known as the North Pole on a map, and when America saw me he claimed me as his land, and was disappointed I wasn't the actual North Pole. But America got the Virgin Islands from Denmark, and therefore agreed to stop all claims over me.
In 1905 Norway got his full independence back and told Denmark that Denmark's claims to Greenland were invalid since I was Norway's possession prior to 1815. In 1931 a Norwegian whaler occupied uninhabited Eastern Greenland and Norway claimed the area in support. Two years later, the Permanent Court of Justice ruled in favour of Denmark and I became a Danish colony.
In WWII, Germany had tried to take over, Denmark signed a treaty with America, allowing America to use my place as a base because it was difficult for Denmark to contact me at the time. During the war I was happy as I enjoyed my temporary time independent.
During the Cold War, I was important to America as I could see wherever the Soviet were using missiles over the Arctic. America soon had a Geopolitical interest in me, and offered Denmark $100,000,000 to buy me , however Denmark refused. In 1951 a new treaty was signed and there was a Thule Air Base set in Thule and it was permanent. In 1953 some of my people had to move in order for the Air Base to be extended and there became tension between Denmark and I. On 21st January 1968 I was ready to kill the stupid Dane! A nuclear accident, involving 4 hydrogen bombs going off at my place happened! Apparently one of the bombs wasn't accounted for when cleaning up the mess, so I could have like toxic poisoning or something!
Finally, in 1953 I was no longer considered a colony of Denmark's, though I was still part of the Kingdom of Denmark. Denmark also provided medicine and education to my country and as a result my population rocketed! Unfortunately most of my population were fishermen and they found it hard to work, unemployment became a massive issue.
The Kingdom of Denmark entered a union which is now known as the EU, and friction grew again between Denmark and I. Most of my trade was with America and Canada, and I was worried if being in the European Union would affect it. I had joined in 1973 and was furious, I was pleading for self government to Denmark and he actually granted it! I got my Home Rule in 1985 and left the EU, being the only country to do so, though I was still part of the Kingdom of Denmark. This means that I got to move back to my own house, even though I still were under his rule. This was a major stepping stone that I took, and it had made me so much more closer to hopefully gaining independence!
The place names Denmark had chosen got renamed. The centre of the Danish civilization in Godthåb was renamed Nuuk and made my capital. In 1985 my national flag was made using the same colours as the Dannebrog (Denmark's flag) but not using the Nordic cross design. My movement to being a full sovereign country is still weak, but I'm getting there! I even became a founding member of the Arctic council."
