Description
Ace reporter, April O'Neil, investigates the secret lair of the Foot Clan to try and uncover who is responsible for a string of technology thefts. As one might expect, she found a whole heap of trouble instead! Fortunately, Casey Jones decided to come along for the ride. But will they be able to escape with their skins?This is the second of a series of mock comic book covers that I drew for Benton's Grey TMNT Mod for Freedom Force Vs. the Third Reich.

I did indeed get a new Casey, and he's great! Β I think he's basically the cartoon version, blue shirt, gray sweatpants. Β I'll send hi to you and you can see.

So my first thought when I saw this was, "Aha... so THAT'S why Casey wears a wifebeater."

Gah... I was worried some people might interpret the layout to suggest that Casey was about to use that bat in an un-gentlemanly manner.
That's probably because in the original Marvel cover, it was a Storm Trooper waiting to ambush Princess Leia.

Well, I don't imagine most people will read it that way considering the nature of April and Casey's relationship -- but that interpretation is possible owing to April's scared expression (which could suggest she doesn't know Casey is hiding around the corner).
If you ever wanted to rework the pic, I'd probably recommend having her smirking and looking in Casey's direction... that way the Foot trap might be more apparent to the viewer.

what can I say... I just love seeing Mirage/OT Casey dressed like 2K3 Casey... Similar to how I made him dress 2K7 style in the comics later on... lol

Yeah, I love OT (Mirage inspired) Casey's mask and hair style. It just screams, "crazy vigilante with a Clint Eastwood vocal inflection!"
