I saw the animatic on youtube.
I believe the basic premise is that the Cakes, for whatever reason, kick pinkie pie out of their house and so she has to find a new place to live, settling for the Apple Family.Β
But I haven't the foggiest as to why they're now a band.

What if it's both: Pinkie Pie s' sister is marrying an Apple Family member, while Pinkie herself gets kicked from the Cakes, and goes to live with the Apples because they're her cousins-in-laws. (She is too immature to live alone, and psicologically too different to her biological family to live in the same house as them.)Β

I mean the plot of the Cakes kicking Pinkie out (if that really is the plot).Β Half the times we see her at work, she's eating the baked goods.Β So I wouldn't be surprised if they kicked her out for that.

From what I been hearing, though it's just speculation, is that Pinkie's sister\family come to visit and she doesn't know how to handle it so she visits the Apple Family to find out how to fit in with her family. Though I think the rumor is mostly started because her sister got officially named by Hasbro.

Yea that's true, pretty much all I've heard is speculation, outside of there NOT being any Flash Sentry in Season 4.

Oh yea, if your wondering, the Pie sisters are named,Β Marble Pie and Limestone Pie, her mother, Cloudy Quartz, and her father, Igneous Rock. Personally I liked Inkie and Blinkie Pie for her sisters.
