A piece fanart that I made long ago, back somewhere in 2022, for Keenan Taylor for his Tales of Kaimere videos on YouTube.

It was made to illustrate his explanations of the subject and for additionnal educatives purposes, here specificaly for the "Pterosaurs of Kaimere" mini-series.

Even, this piece didn't match the current status of certain elements in the present tales of Kaimere's Lore.
Mainly the Banshee Gull design.

For this piece, I wanted to show the Banshee Gull originaly, one of the most famous pterosaurs of this spec evo world along the Titan Crow and the Notzokideu.

The species have a first design, made by Keenan long ago, back from when this species and the two others mentionned were classified as Azhdarchid pterosaurs.

But Keenan end up at one moment to turn them into Tapejarid pterosaurs instead, leading to redesign them all. For the episode abou the "Pterosaurs of Kaimere".

But for me there was a problem.

Their first/old designs of all were all already used in several videos before the ones dedicated about them.

And also that redesign are, for me, in Tales of Kaimere, my biggest nitpick because that create continuity's problems about the Lore.
The first Book Antology have several colored pictures at the end, showing the creatures that appeared in each stories, but there some that were redesign after its release/publication. Since these illustrations still always present in book 1, they are so because of that, still canon as an effect.

The first/old design of the Banshee Gull, used here in this piece, is among the ones used at the end of the first book.

And because this design was already used in many of these videos before, I was in the idea to put things in order to made a compromise, to resolve the why the animal don't look like it was previousely shown before.

And Keenan, in the 5-6 weeks before the "Pterosaurs of Kaimere" video, made numerous species of Tapejardis, including several members of a clade called Terror Gulls and made to be the direct sister group of the one in which belong the Banshee Gull.

And after comparing the members of the two groups, and that they were close phylogeneticaly speaking, I had the idea to repurposed the first/old design as a hybrid specimen between a (male) Banshee Gull and a species of Terror Gull.

Since the first/old design matches witch was an hybrid between the two would look like, supposedly for me. Having the overall bodyshape of a Banshee Gull and having all the more minors traits of a Terror Gull.

I made the fanart and a try numerous time to send it to Keenan, but I wasn't able to send him in times and, as such, this fanart wasn't used in the episodes in question.

Even, in the end, my piece wasn't matchable with the current status of Tales of Kaimere's Lore/Universe.
Keenan respond me on my piece that sadly, Banshee Gull and Terror Gulls weren't enough close to produce hybrids, and even, Banshee Gull are great competitors of the Terror Gull and their hyper-aggressive relationship made things impossible for a hybridization between two members of these species.

Shame, but it how things are.

I will likely edits and remade it for another subject if one day the opportunity occured.
