These were mainly use as trading exclaves weren't they? Feitorias i think is what they were called.

Broadly, yes. Later on they became rather redundant though - they were mainly just useful as they boosted Portugal's tax intake.

All conquered at the expense of the Bijapur Sultanate, If I remember well.

The 16th-century conquests were, yes. The later ones were acquired by exploiting feuds between rival Indian kingdoms.
