Those two longer appendages are technically tentacles (some people say that the difference between octopuses and squids is that octopuses have eight arms whereas squids have ten, but in actuality both have only eight and squids have two tentacles). Cuttlefish also have two tentacles, and use them to grasp prey. They usually keep them concealed and lash them out to snatch an unsuspecting fish or something. I assume that's where Olorotitan's inspiration came from. Ammonites are cephalopods, after all.

Some were thought to be filterfeeders.  For certain, the larvae apparently preyed on foraminifera
