Description a strange Earth elemental known for it's bizarre eating habits

the moss guardian is more akin to coral and jellyfish than any terrestrial creature.

It is a photosythetic predator that has a thick segmented shell of calcium carbonate protecting it's fragile insides.

It mainly relies on photosynthesis but obtains nutrients needed for the maintenece of its shell from prey.

It eats much like a starfish by extending thin tentacles around it's prey to digest them. It lures prey by extruding a sweet scent to lure them into range and then useing stinging cells to paralyze the prey.
