Transformers Prime, Rafael "Raf" Jorge Gonzales Esquivel (holy crap I had no idea his name was so long) and Soundwave are (C) Hasbro. Art is (C) WingedHippocampus please do not trace, recolor, or make bases from this work.A paid commission for who requested Raf from TFP, sitting unawares in a beanbag chair with a laptop, while Soundwave's tendrils are about to grab him.

Lots of really strong choices going on here. Β The composition is the most notable; having Soundwave appear only by way of his sneaking tendrils and glowing visor is genius, and really heightens the tension and scariness of the scene. Β Likewise, I love using the grid of shadows on the floor, giving it a real sense of claustrophobia closing in. Β Even the little reflection of the tentacles on the tiles adds to the mood. Β Add on top of that your usual strong line work and coloring effects (like the gentle glow of Raf's screen or the metallic sheen of Soundwave's tendrils) and you get a very strong little moment...hope Raf makes it out OK!Β

Ahh, I'm with Nikki, Soundwave doesn't do more damage than he has to and seems to actually go out of his way to avoid violence if he doesn't feel it's necessary. So Raf'll probably be fine, if likely minus his computer or just plain kidnapped. Weird and inappropriate fanfictions aside. -shudder-

Soundwave looks so darkly ominous as he reaches from the shadows, contrasted so well with Raf's happy image as he uses his laptop. Truly a missed scene from "Minus One." Thanks so much. I may have to set this as my desktop screen.

I am TERRIBLE with inorganics, but, a lot of the canon TFP designs are generally pretty organic looking...so we'll see. c: I actually do have a FC picture I was working on, as well as another idea, but we will see if they past muster enough to end up posted. Thanks for the encouragement!
