Been sitting on this one for a while, partly due to discouragement from the last place I expected it. |D; But I have to remind myself I make fan art and fan characters because I LIKE TO DO IT. If other people like it, bonus, but if they don't, well, I still enjoy it. So here, I'm un-sitting. Or something. I CAN USE THAT UNWORD IF I WANT. Don't judge me! CARROTS!!

Strawberry Blossom is afraid of thunder and lightning, and ran into a storm while traveling. Fly By Night watched over her and used a wing to keep much of the rain off. They didn't catch eachother's names until days later.

I tried RP a few times; don't really do it now, except with myself when writing. Seems to be a good way for many others to spark new ideas, though.

You really need a decent partner or group for RP to be fun, I'm sorry you didn't seem to find that. I find RP is an excellent way to build worlds, develop characters, test and come up with ideas, and just plain have fun.

Maybe it's also my being people-shy and having problems with direct interactions, at least with people I'm not already "tuned" to. But my own processes resemble a RP, it's just, all the voices are in my own head. So I imagine I would find it a nice way to try stuff out, in some cases. I'm scared of sharing half-baked ideas... But the convos about them that I keep having with some friends lately have really given my writing a boost; I imagine RP allows for even more detailed concept-play.

I still don't understand the discouragement you refer to; this is a wonderful scene, with wonderful characters and executed wonderfully. I particularly like the way Fly By Night blends into the background; it's a really cool effect and lends the already-heartwarming scene an extra edge of unseen heroism. I just...I REALLY love this piece.

Scattering dots of various grays and then using a motion blur filter. ^^
