Thanks. The ink work on the paper was a bitch. I had to press all three edges and hand sand them till they were smooth, wash them with egg whites, and then I applied the liquid watercolors with a tooth brush. I hand made all the brass components which I think are the weakest aspect of the book but my metal working tools are limited. I have often thought about making a book using the skill sets of many people. You know... find a paper maker, a wood worker, a metal smith... bring us all together. Just a thought. This would be a good forum to do so.

Thanks for tips! I was learn about that technique (to the part with tooth brush) but was never try in practice.

About metal elements... Must wrote that I come to same problem when implement brass elements on book covers. Without some special tools cant go to far. Till today, I didn't resolve this problem enough good. Just cut, form in desired shape and give patina. Mostly is enough but very limited in some cases...

From your work I see that you are very creative! I'm hope so that be more inspiring works from you there.

Sounds like a pain but I got to try some marbling on the edges. I tried using wood stain but it was a disaster! Sanding sounds like the missing piece of info!

Egg whites are important too, as I remember good from past... Prevent bleeding and suck paint into book block.
