It seems like you use reference to do these portraits, is that so?
If then, where do you get those references from? Randomly from models on the internet?

I'm new to deviant art. I joined to get both positive and negative comments on my work. I want to tell you what I think of your work and hopefully you will do the same with one of mine.
This piece is very well executed obviously. If I could create something like this I would be very proud of myself. So what can I self. Since art appreciation is relative here is what I think is best and worst of this piece:
best: Great technique and confident strokes. I think that the faintly "glowing" eyes sell the picture. The eyes are deep and mysterious. You don't know what the guy is thinking and if he is looking at you or somewhere else. Very intense look! Great!
worst:frankly I don't see anything wrong with this piece. I would probably had made the background dark or black to add mood maybe. But then again if you take a look at my drawings, I'm very careless with them and I know that perfection is not the goal. Its all about enjoying doing the work right?

For a few moments, I thought this was a Qunari character, a la Dragon Age! This is absolutely gorgeous though. The painting/texturing on the skin and horns is amazing.
