Katie spun toward the door. She turned back as she was walking out

"I know you're going to call your mother as soon as I leave. That's fine, go ahead. She's going to confirm the truth. You can be mad at me or be mad at her. The choice is yours. I'll get a lawyer to draw up the proper paperwork and make sure you get them. Cant have any loopholes when this goes down. Hope you can find better than the fakes you have out there!"

She laughed and left the room.

Allison had to work to fight back tears. Her life just changed in ways she couldn't believe. She was still in shock. Then a thought hit her.

"What have I done!?" She said outloud to the empty room and felt the first, and only, tear hit her cheek.

The thought now had hold of her. She just volunteered the girls at the gym, her friends and associates, to fight for her! She hadn't consulted them or even thought about their well being. She couldn't possibly let that happen. If anything happened to any of them she'd never forgive herself. She'd call Katie in a few minutes and relinquish the gym as soon as the papers were drawn up. If Katie still wanted a fight, she'd give it to her and give it her all, but she'd never put those girls out there in danger. Vikki would be ok, she was a tough little scrapper and Laura is a girl she hate to be on the wrong side of if her temper flared. After that though it would be bad. Cynthia was tough but just too raw. Holly? She might get perminantly injured.  The girls in between all had moxie and potential, but potential is a long way from what Katie was sure to bring in.

Carla entered and immediately saw the despair on Allison's face. To her credit Allison kept her composure and laid out the scenario.

"Well that's shitty!" Carla sighed out. Allison looked at her and as they stared at each other she let out a chuckle.

"To say the least." Allison finally said.

"What are you going to do?" Carla asked seriously.

Allison pondered that very question and her emotions started to bubble up again. "I cant put these girls through that, Im bowing out. I'll find a way to start a new gym."

Carla looked at her. "That's noble and probably smart. Those girls love this place though, Ally and I think you should at least find out what they are thinking before you turn your life upside down and start over.  Why dont you tell them, let them think about it and then get them all together and get their feelings on the whole thing. You've got some hard headed women out there who love a good challenge. No shame in at least taking a few days to gather your thoughts. This is a huge bombshell."

Allison appreciated Carla's friendship. Now maybe more than ever. It was a rational idea at least. She still would have a tough time agreeing to this. She couldn't bare it if someone got hurt.

"C'mon Ally, I'll help you tell them. Then lets get your gear on. I suddenly have an urge to toss you around the ring!"

Allison looked up at that last part. Carla was smiling at her. They both knew how their training sessions went and today wouldn't be much different.   Allison appreciated the sentiment and decided she could probably use the distraction.

"Oh...... please dont hurt me Carla!"
