EP GOES TO KOSTENLOS

April 11th, 46 BC.

Things in Shadow Empire had been slow. Kostenlos was bored with the same old routine. One of his best friends was captured, and his only other friend lived in another empire. He had nothing here. Sometimes the leopard had had to wonder why he even bothered returning here at all. It certainly hadn't seemed like he'd been missed. But...he missed his friends. He missed the friends he had. The friends that needlessly rejected him. Maybe he shouldn't miss them. But he did. And a mental image of Thalia's torn and bloody pelt with cubs curled up beside it flashed into his mind as he climbed a grassy hill in Shadow Empire's camp. He closed his eyes against the image and lifted his chin in determination as he arrived at the stone den at the top of the hill.

"Evander." The leopard called at the entrance, voice strong and clear. The hybrid leader rose from his nest to approach the gladiator, who stepped just inside.

"Yes, Kostenlos?" The leopard's former mentor asked. Kostenlos had to wonder, sometimes, if Evander's reasoning for holding him back as an apprentice so long was entirely just because he'd needed to catch up on gladiator skills, or if some of his reasoning was because Thalia was Evander's little sister. It wasn't as if Evander's hesitation wasn't completely unjustified, given the way Kostenlos used to be. But he pushed those thoughts away. It was irrelevant now. The leopard's green eyes met the hybrid's without shying away.

"I've decided...I want to train as an Assassin." Evander's ears pricked.

"Why the sudden change?" He asked in surprise. "Why would you want to-"

"I don't want to sit around camp all day, just doing the regular gladiator duties anymore." Kostenlos declared. "I want to help the empire-ALL the empires- more than that. And I want to help Leartes get Thalia back." The leopard's brows were furrowed, determination and firm decision glinting in his eyes. Evander's whiskers twitched. He was probably wondering how Kostenlos suddenly wanted to help the other leopard who despised him so much...after all, it had been years since Kos, Thal, and Taze had been best friends. There had been so much division between Kos and the other two for so long. But the leader didn't ask.

"The Assassin training started weeks ago. If you joined now you'd be behi-"

"I'll catch up." Kostenlos confirmed. "I'll work harder than any of them." Evander was silent a few moments as he thought it over. Was it a good idea? Would it hurt anything? He was clearly set on joining the team...

"If Andromeda is alright with another Shadow Empire cat joining her training this late...then I will allow it." He decided. "You may go to speak to her tomorrow." A tiny smile graced Kostenlos' maw, and he dipped his head.

"Thank you, Evander. I won't let you down." With that, the leopard whisked around and left the den.

This story follows a RP Stone and I planned to have with our rival leopard boys. I hope I portrayed Evander alright x.x

YEAH SO ANYWAY. Sky said it was okay for Kos to join the assassins, so that's what I'm gonna do.

Because I think it will be beneficial to RP an assassin from a gladiator's point of view. Since Andromeda is the one giving orders, also having one on the receiving end of those orders should help the other players of assassins understand exactly what's going on and how it should be affecting the assassin characters.

Because they're not a bunch of blood thirsty killers that go hulkragemode and kill anything that moves. They shouldn't be hurting their own empire mates during training (the regular scratches and stuff is normal, but anything more is a no go). And being an assassin is more than simply fighting and learning to kill.

OH, BY THE WAY I HAD A THOUGHT. FOR THOSE WHO ARE ROLEPLAYING ASSASSINS, WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN SOME SORT OF EVENT OR CONTEST THING FOR THEM?
I could probably also think of one for the normal gladiators so they don't feel left out, if anyone wants.
This isn't to say there /will/ be an event, I just want to see who would be interested in doing one. It would probably involve depicting your character in different training environments/situations.
