I love his total loyalty to Lilo (much like a real dog) & I LOVE that this fact doesn't necessarily mean he gets in less trouble. Lilo is at least 50% of the troubling two, the "Mastermind" to his "Muscle" (& alien tech). By giving up control of his "bad" side, it gives him space to figure out who he is & what he wants (not just what was programmed into him)
