Sometimes people have access to shiny paper, not metallic but paper with a plastic sort of sheen, that helps. I paint the models are they are finished, but you have to more or less paint them one by one otherwise you have gaps and it looks unprofessional (not that I am professional but if you going to do it you may as well go all out)

Yeah, i have VERY long fingernails (natural) and it makes it veryyy difficult to fold 1/64 pieces. But i think i will keep tyring to improve these ears rather than go back to those spikey ones.

Um...I don't know american measuring system xD Big enough so have to hold it with both hands, with thumbs on his belly and hands supporting the back. He is quite heavy as I used a LOT of varnish...and still got no shine xD

don't be sad, blue bear! you're made of 1208 hand-folded pieces of paper, which is higher than most of my classmates can count!
this does look amazing, though. i like the shape of the creme/muzzle area, and his ears. i like the horizontally fanned-out ears of the pandas, but the vertical alignment makes it look like little tufts of hair and gives him a very unique finish. very cute!

Thank you, the photo is taken from an awkward angle so it doesn't really look symetrical xD
