My second entry for *Nyiana-Sama 's Original character contest.also a gift art for ~Shaunothedead
Saffron is another character from my original manga "Machinegun Angel" and is one of the main villains.
Some may argue by the way she is presented in the story, if she is a true villain or not. I have given her a detailed past, and she has become a favorite of my readers, possibly due to her relationship with another of the villains, Rogue.
Saffron was raised by her grandfather and mother at their dojo in the mountains of the eastern mountain region. (This may have been the far east in the past era, but it is not specified in the story whether it is Earth or not) She trained until the age of 15 when she left the dojo to find her childhood best friend. Upon joining the military, she took up an interest in robotics technology.
Since then Saffron has dedicated her life to the RUBICON Empire, under the position of Arc General of Genesis Faction. She is now responsible for the development of an entire army of robotic sentinels that keep the world's population in order.
She is also the only female Arc General.

Hi MGA, i was at Connecticon this past weekend. I found your portfolio to be quite impressive. As for this character, she is strikingly beautiful with perhaps a bit of hidden sadness or hurt in her eyes. Nicely done.

It's near an imposibility to say anything bad about this, but instead of saying anything bad, i have to say... AWESOME!!! the only thing that could make this better would be some sort of lettering of her name, you know, all cool like an' all! XD

I can't play favourites, but I wouldn't mind ending up taking a stab at her! Great job with presenting her clearly...costume design is very presentable and readable. Scrolling through the entries, she's one of the ones that stood out...the colors are simplified and effective.

thats a good effort, consistancy is the key though, i noticed on biohazard band around her leg it doesn't follow the same shading as the rest of her leg making it look kind of flat there. not much else i can nitpick on this though really. good job

for a few reasons, the main being that most people (not saying you) sadly, do not know the difference between critique and criticism. I have had a few bad expiriences where artists/writers who had absolutely no buisness even trying to give 'constructive' criticism pretty much tore my work apart.
Another reason is that I only accept critique from professional artists, and teachers. There are too many ameteur artists and writers out there with 'holier-than-thou' additudes that feel that nit-picking is the only way to give themselves the ego-boost they would otherwise not get. I find it insulting when someone with little or no experience feels the need to criticize someone who is A) Twice their age; and B) Has completely educated themselves on art without the help of colleges or art classes.
I'm sorry if i offended you, but that's just how i feel.
