Description
Before anything, let's get this out of the way first. I know for a fact this art is not anything special in terms of its design, The way I drew the faces, or anything at all. It isn't all that great in the grand scope of things, but that may as well be something that I can use to an advantage: To be able to come back and use this for reference in the future. To improve upon this concept and possibly do more with it another time. I just had to get this done and finished the first time while it was still an idea that I wanted to do. That being said, what I really think hits me here the most is the concept and story of sorts behind it.

I love Homestuck. I love roleplaying. So naturally the two came together and it was some of the best times I think I've ever been able to experience. I've felt so many emotions to the characters and people behind the characters I've interacted with that it would be a shame if I never came around to tributing it in some sort of way. I guess this may be the beginning of it. But onto the picture itself.

The Troll characters I've roleplayed with in the land of #MiracleTown contain some really tragic backgrounds. Not just that, the ones I choose to mention here in this picture are just brimming with personality and all sorts of things that makes them amazing to go along with. I could spend paragraph after paragraph trying to describe each one, and maybe it would do it justice. But it's really something that I'm so glad I got to experience first-hand. Well, admittedly even a lot of the ones not shown had that too. But these are the ones I chose for it based on many factors. Let's talk about that and the picture itself a little.

Starting with the title, you may notice it's a play-on of The Little Mermaid's "Poor unfortunate souls" song by Ursula. I chose these trolls among the rest because of all the hardships that they'd gone through in their life whether it be past or present. Seems that none of them are exempt, really, and it gives me just so many feels that I wish I could hug them all. Even though one of them would probably stab me for it. Regardless, they've all gone through a lot. Now to tie that into the drawing, I drew each of these 12 trolls. And again, the fact that it's 12 just happens to be a coincidence because that's how fit onto the paper.

So I felt drawing them as silhouettes without any visible eyes drew into the despair a little. All we see are their faces, frowning and upset at whatever it is in their life that has troubled them. Unhappy trolls living their lives unhappily. That much must be apparent just by looking. Beyond that, only the bare essentials were put into this picture. Each character's symbol, unique to each troll, was put in because in a sense it also shows who they are. Never have I actually seen two fan trolls with the same symbol. And then hair, horns, and glasses round out the rest of what is actually shown on the trolls pictured. I'll admit that in the latter half, some of them got really annoying to do and I apologize if it's not entirely up to par to what the original designs were for the characters. But I tried, and that's what counts, right?

I guess one final note is that I chose characters that tended to fit with one another. Not generally right next to another, but many of the characters here have some relation to one another. Whether it be Sgrub sessions, romantic quadrants, or that they just were friends or hung out with another, it was all like one puzzle of sorts.

So I hope you like this, this smallest of tributes, friends. You've given me such emotions throughout the past year that I can't even begin to describe, and I appreciate each and every one of you for it. Thank you. I'll give credit to the characters through deviantArt if I know it, and if anyone can point me in the right direction for others, let me know.
