2020 has been a really wild year for art. Starting my Patreon made me expand my work in a lot of areas (working more on backgrounds & scenes, pushing style in experimentals, etc) and it lead to a real wacky variety of things! It was very strange to look back over everything honestly. A lot of the pieces from the beginning of this year feel like they were done more than a year ago! 2020 has been so mf long that I can hardly remember doin' anything from the first quarter but well, I sure did some things.

I think I had a sweet spot going in April-July!? Which tracks since it's about when I graduated and when I was back on the island, which was a huge weight off my shoulders.

The end of the year things got progressively rougher, art wise, since my mental health has been in a fairly steady state of decline for the whole year. I don't really like to go on about it but it's definitely affected my work through the year in different ways and that's something I've kept an eye on. I'm really hoping 2021 will turn things around for that and for a million other reasons - but I'm hopeful! I enjoyed a lot of things from the first half of the year and I'd like to find some of that joy in my work again.

Tomorrow won't magically change anything, but I hope it'll be the start of a better year for myself and everyone else!
