Description Elsa Lanchester as the Monster's mate in 1935's 'Bride of Frankenstein' - my all time favourite film. Just to show I don't ONLY draw Doctor Who related stuff!

Thank you - it was taken from a publicity still, which I don't usually like using as reference material - but as you say, she was so striking, I couldn't resist. I love the subtle scars on her throat which betray her deathly roots!

It's strange how the image of both the Monster and The Bride have become so iconic, and nothing since has come closer to capturing their effectiveness!

No and that's why I love them so much.

This is one of my more favorite movies, too. And she looks quite lovely.

Thank you - it is just the scars on her neck that remind us of her origins! Apart from that, she is a beauty. The Monster thought so too!

Yup. Too bad she didn't like him, though.

One of the saddest moments in any film, I think!

Indeed. Especially since he ends up destroying himself, and her, and Pretorious in the end.

Yes - now what exactly was that lever for? Praetorious said, "Don't pull that, you'll blow us all to atoms!"
So was it a self destruct leverreserved for just such an occasion? We'll never know

Heh heh. I guess it's one of those "details" that we're not supposed to think about too much.
