The tartan appears to be Bruce. The sword is a Lowland Twa-Handit sword, AKA a "Slaughter" sword popular in the 16th century. It is actually different in several ways. Most notably the hilt. The targe, (shield), could not be used with a two handed sword and came into use in the 18th century paired with the one handed Scottish Broadsword, which was often incorrectly called a Claymore as well.
