Description Years back my neighbor Gregg won at a raffle an electric guitar signed by Rob Zombie, Mike Riggs, and Tommy Clufetos. I told him what I could try to do with it as an experiment, and he said go for it.

Front:

- With acrylic I have done hand marbling before with a brush but this was the first time I was going to work with a suspension liquid that would allow me to marble a larger surface without it setting to fast.

Back:

- I used a texture technique with acrylic and then covered with some silver flake autobody paint (oil base) that I had a container of at the time. Sanded that, and then inlaid a monogram (GREGG) with a leather technique using acrylic.

- The signatures were fading away so I just made them pop out, and pin stripped the edges.

- The last thing I did was tape it all off, lightly wet sand the surface, and clear coat the front and back.

Side Note: What I did not know at the time was that if a guitar goes without strings for a longer period of time the neck will be set out of its proper proportions (it will have to be tightened and retrained back to it proper position).

I liked it because it presented a unique three dimensional challenge I had never been offered before and I liked White Zombie back then. It took me more time than expected and had a very high rate of failure so I probably wouldn't do this again.

--I lied... I think this was my first successful commission/personal experiment of which I got back some material costs and a little extra.
